General Information
General Information:
Imaan is hosting its fourth LGBT Muslim Conference in London. It will begin on Friday 17 October and
end of Sunday 19 October. The conference is open to all Muslim lesbians, gays,
bisexuals and trans (LGBT) people, their family, friends, and supporters.
Imaan works towards the Islamic notion
of social justice, peace and tolerance to bring people together in a world that
is free from discrimination, injustice
and prejudice. Imaan works with a plethora of like-minded individuals and groups
in Britain
and abroad to achieve these aims.

Registration:
-
All participants must register prior to the start of the conference by
completing an official form and enclosing the correct registration fee. The
registration fee is stated below.

You must complete a registration form in full and enclose payment in order
to ensure registration.
-
A handling fee may apply at the discretion of organizers for incomplete
applications.

If you are claiming a concessionary rate as a student or unemployed person
you must submit proof of status with your registration form. Failure to
submit such proof will invalidate your application.

Please note that places are limited and we therefore encourage you to
register as early as possible. Registrations will not be possible on the
day.
Dietary Requirements:

Tea and coffee will be available over the course of the conference.
-
There will be an opportunity to attend a group dinner on Friday and Saturday
night for which participants must bear their own costs.
Access Needs:

The conference venue is wheelchair accessible.
-
There will be some disabled car parking spaces available but these will be
allocated on a strictly first come first served basis. Delegates are
strongly encouraged to use public transport where possible.

Please ensure that you make Imaan aware of any additional access needs
before 30 September . Every effort will be made to accommodate requests
after this date, but cannot be guaranteed.

Creche facilities may be available on site if delegates make Imaan aware of
this before 30 September
Entertainment:

Entertainment will be provided on Saturday night for which participants must
bear their own costs.
Accommodation:
-
All participants must make their own accommodation arrangements during the
conference. A list of local hotels and youth hostels will be provided by
Imaan upon your successful registration to attend the conference.

Some community housing will be available but this will be allocated on a
strictly first-come first-served basis, and will be with local Imaan members

Venue and Transportation:

The conference will be held in central London, near Kings
Cross, St Pancras and Euston stations. Exact details will be sent to you
upon the successful processing of your registration form and fee.

Participants are responsible for ensuring their own travel to the conference
venue and to/from their accommodation.

Local airports include London City,
Gatwick, Heathrow and Stanstead. There are fast train services into central
London
from all these airports.
Health and Safety:
-
All conference delegates and participants, including speakers, shall be
expected to wear their pass at all times and ensure that is clearly visible
at all times during the conference and its component parts, including
workshops and plenary sessions. Particpants are also reminded to behave in a
comradely and supportive manner; to adopt the Islamic principles of treating
each other with dignity and respect even where there is divergence of views.
Any behaviour deemed unacceptable by conference organizers will result in
delegates being asked to leave the event.
Media:

All media and press must register in advance using the ordinary registration
form, marking that you are a member of the media and press.

Media and press representatives must wear their press pass at all times and
ensure that is clearly visible at all times during the conference.

Photographs may only be taken with the express permission of the person
being photographed.
Imaan members and conference organizers will be available for interviews.
