GALOP Research - Westminster & Soho
![]() |
Galop (www.galop.org.uk) is
currently carrying out research to find out the views and experiences of
lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and trans people
(LGBT) who live, work, study or socialise in the London borough
of Westminster. The work has been commissioned by Westminster City
Council. As part of this, a confidential online survey is being held at
www.galop.org.uk/survey.
They
are also holding a discussion group for Black, Asian and minority
ethnic people who identify as LGBT in Soho on Friday 29th
February from 6:30pm-8pm. The organisers are looking for up to six
participants, who will each be given £15 as a thank you for their
time. Galop
wants to find out how you feel about being in Westminster, what you like
about it, and whether you’ve ever faced discrimination or felt unsafe
there. We also want to explore your views on how local authorities
generally should be meeting the needs of LGBT people in services such as
housing, healthcare, policing, education and leisure.
Food and refreshments will be provided. Participation in the group will
remain confidential and no names will be passed back to the council.
The discussion will be facilitated by Katherine Cowan, an independent
researcher working with Galop. If you are interested in taking part, or
would like more details, please get in touch at
katherine@katherinecowan.net.
